A stock trade refers to the buying, selling and even exchange of company stocks listed in a particular stock exchange. Stocks are a means used by companies to raise funds by involving the general public to invest in a particular company by issuing shares of the same. The buying and selling of this very stock is referred to as stock trade.

Stock market trading takes place through the medium of a market in the form of stock exchanges where the company registers itself. The actual process of stock trade can be done in two ways- the traditional way of stock trade in an open manner on the stock exchange floor, and the online stock market trading, where stock trade occurs through electronic exchanges.
