Anyone who harbors an interest in the stock market is sure to have heard of the NASDAQ stock exchange. For the average reader it would suffice to know that both the NASDAQ and NYSE stock are major exchanges through which buying and selling of company stocks take place.
Companies of every size, big, medium and small list themselves on these exchanges, provided they adhere to certain criteria needed for being listed. The stocks of these companies are then traded in both the NYSE stock exchange and the NASDAQ stock exchange. In these stock markets which are primarily used as market places for exchanging of stocks, thousands of stocks are purchased and sold in the form of investments both short and long term.
