Apple (AAPL) is looking to replace the netbook groundswell with the iPad craze. Eventually, it is conceivable that the iPad replaces even the laptop for many people.

The iPad would also be cloud computing friendly and fit into the cloud computing wave that could be upon the masses shortly. Cloud computing will need cloud service and who better to offer cloud service than Apple?

The iPad may be characterized as a “giant iPhone” by most, but don’t be fooled one second. The iPad is a calculated product in Apple continuing its dynasty. Apple is putting together a mobile computing dynasty that has slowly assimilated more and more PC users to their platform through the iPod and iPhone. The iPad will now take away some of the time that users spend on their Windows 7 powered laptops and PCs.

It has been speculated that the iPad could remake the print, TV, and publishing business in a similar way as how iTunes remade the music industry. Once again, it’s just version 1 of the iPad and we believe it goes up from there.

For those who have tried the Kindle, it was a first mover in the eReader space, but it looks like a dinosaur now compared to AAPL’s iPad. Those who have a Kindle will probably still buy books through it and then just use the Kindle App on the iPad to actually read the books. That’s one great use for the iPad depending on how much a person is into reading books on an eReader.

It is speculated that the iPad (3G version) will have support for Slingbox® so iPad users can watch TV while away from WiFi. This would occur through a Slingbox® app. AT&T just recently started allowing iPhone users to Slingbox® their TV to their phones over their 3G network.

The iPad will be a lot easier to browse the Web on while relaxing than on an iPhone or Laptop.

The iPad will not be for everyone, but it will find its niche and go from there. As for Apple’s stock, there is no reason why AAPL shouldn’t keep moving higher. As long as Steve Jobs stays healthy and at the helm, the sky is the limit for Apple.

There is no doubt that the Apple iPad is a hot topic. Apple will ship their iPad on April 3rd. Commercials for the iPad have begun with spots during the Oscars Sunday night.

Many people have already asked themselves if they need or even want this less-than-apple-like device. Apple has great marketing and they will get a plethora of people to buy something that they don’t really need. The combination of stunning, sexy design and astoundingly brilliant marketing by Apple is why they have around a $200 billion market cap. In comparison, Microsoft, a long rival of Apple, has around a $250 billion market cap. Remember, Apple almost went extinct due to poor management throughout the 1990’s while Steve Jobs was at Pixar.

Not a huge amount of people will “need” the iPad. Some will have a specific use for the iPad which will make it worth buying for them.

One important fact that people should know about Apple is that they believe that shipping the product is most important. As Steve Jobs has stated in the past, “Real Artists Ship.”

The iPad shipping on April 3rd and the 3G iPad shipping shortly after are just version 1. Apple will improve the iPad and it will most likely fit brilliantly into a greater strategy down the road that Steve Jobs has already envisioned.

The US is officially showing some acute signs of decline.  Though, I love the DOW and our country, the fact that Cottonelle actually used Tori Spelling and her husband to determine if people rolled their toilet paper over or under is not promising.  The story was reported by PRN on the wires between a PBOC statement on Monetary Policy stance and the EU’s Barroso commenting on Nuclear Waste issues providing further evidence why people think the US decline is eminent.  Over / under on how long that ad exec will keep position?  It is March madness?

Nearly every major Asian stock index was up nicely on the day and Europe is trading up on the Greek news we commented on.  US Indexes are up in Europe so it looks like another great day for the US markets.  Breaking through Dow 10,500 may attract some profit taking though the technical momentum looks more like the market will test 10,750 or even 11,000 first.  And I admit my opinion is biased as I’ve projected Dow 12,000 for year end.  There is just so much cash on the sidelines and I don’t see it going too many other places unless the offshore funds sneak another round of air investments past the regulators in the form of asset based exotic derivatives stemming from the Trillion dollar looming commercial debt debacle.  There is significant uncertainty related to this situation and definitely high up on our watch list.
