Several companies are ready to go
public in the near future.

Pittsburgh, PA (SpeculatingStocks) - Read about companies before they even go public to have a head start. When the IPO hits for these companies, you’ll be knowledgeable of their stories.

ZYNG (Zynga) – Remember our Zynga article in late August? “Zynga Not Ready to Run with Big Dogs, Yet.” It looks like Zynga is finally ready to go public with its IPO set for roughly November 17th, the week before Thanksgiving. That is a hot time of year for the stock market and we believe they are spot on in picking a great time for their IPO. Zynga has emerged as the #1 player in social gaming, though we think Rovio (Angry Birds) could give them a run for their money at a later date.

GRPN (Groupon, Inc.) – Groupon is another long awaited IPO with an IPO date for GRPN of November 4th.  A lot of people are questioning the business model behind Groupon. Can companies offer 50% off deals that are actually unprofitable to the companies providing the deal? This is good for Groupon, but it may not be sustainable for their deal providers. Also, Groupon is in a heavily competitive space where they are fighting over every new member. Advertising gets extremely expensive in such a situation. Groupon.com’s reach has been cut in half since August. The CEO of GRPN, Andrew Mason, is also a question mark. No matter what the concerns, GRPN is likely to be a huge IPO hit as there is so much buzz around it.

CCXI (Chemocentryx, Inc.) – An IPO date for Chemocentryx has yet to be disclosed. The company develops oral drugs for autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases and oncology. Their lead drug is in Phase III clinical trials with their partner, Glaxo Group Ltd., an affiliate of GlaxoSmithKline. Their lead drug’s purpose is to treat patients with moderate-to-severe Crohn’s disease, an inflammatory disease of the intestines. Market conditions held Chemocentryx from going public earlier, but this could be one to watch closely when it does go public, possibly by the end of the year.

CEMP (Cempra Holdings, LLC) – This company develops antibiotics to meet medical needs that are critical and unmet. Cempra has two drugs in clinical-stage development, both looking to address the increasing need for new treatments targeting drug-resistant bacterial infections in both the hospital and the community. This is a fast rising, promising company that was founded in 2006.
