CMRG (Casual Male Retail Group, Inc.) – CMRG just reported a Q2 rise in profit of 17% to $6.6 million. CMRG is trading at less than a $200 million market cap. CMRG is receiving a great deal of attention after their Q2 results.
LTS (Landenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc.) – It was announced on Wednesday that Ameriprise Financial will sell their Securities America to LTS. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2011.
GRZ (Gold Reserve, Inc.) – This company is an exploration stage company, engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of mining projects. Gold has jumped higher again as the market struggles have come back and economic fears continuing to set in. Gold is now up above $1830 an ounce.
SPIR (Spire Corporation) – SPIR was just awarded a patent for Nano-PV devices, which are nanophotovoltaic modules which when applied to biological cells such as cancer, can control and/or limit their growth. The CEO of SPIR stated, “This being our third patent issued from our original invention, we have combined our understanding of photovoltaics with our experience in the biomedical field. We are excited to have received this patent and are enthusiastic that it makes an impact in medicine.”
