Here are some stocks that are reaching new 52-week highs and our thoughts on each:
KONA (Kona Grill, Inc.) – Back in 2007, KONA traded at over $20.00 a share. KONA now sits at $7.70 after trending from around the $4.00 level in June. The pull of the 52-week high mark was very strong on KONA. Earnings helped the situation significantly for investors as restaurant sales in Q2 2011 increased 13.6% to $25.8 million and same-store sales increased 9.1%. Net income increased 199% to $0.8 million or $0.08 per share.
CLUB (Town Sports International Holdings, Inc.) – CLUB is a fitness play. The company owns and operates fitness clubs in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the US. CLUB has been trending consistently since November of last year. Town Sports International plans to open two new fitness clubs in the second half of this year.
LOV (Spark Networks, Inc.) – You may have seen ChristianMingle.com advertised on TV recently, well LOV is the owner of that site and other online personals communities including JDate.com, Spark.com and BlackSingles.com.
PRS (Primus Guaranty, Ltd.) – PRS provides protection against the risk of default on primarily investment grade corporate and sovereign reference entities. PRS has started to see action, reaching a new 52-week high in its last session, closing up $0.31 to $6.10.
CLFD (Clearfield, Inc.) – CLFD just reported very nice Q3 earnings including revenues of $10.1 million, gross profit of $4.3 million and net income of $1.3 million, respectively a 49%, 66% and 103% increase from Q3 last year. CLFD has an excellent up trending chart since November of last year.
