Spartan Motors, Inc. designs, engineers and manufactures custom chassis and vehicles for the recreational vehicle, fire truck, ambulance, emergency-rescue and specialty vehicle markets. The company holds the brand names -- Spartan(TM), Crimson Fire(TM), Crimson Fire Aerials(TM), and Road Rescue(TM).

SPAR has grown revenue the last three years from $312.3 million in 2004 to $343.0 million in 2005 to $445.4 million in 2006. Profits have grown from $5.88 million to $8.29 million to $16.8 million over the same period.

Technically, SPAR is in a position for a short-term move, but its growth stock aspects make it a long-term play as well.

There are only 19.4 million shares in the float and the 5.37% of the float currently short could get squeezed out.
