Kopin Corporation produces lightweight, power-efficient, ultra-small liquid crystal displays and heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs). Kopin has shipped more than 30 million displays for a range of consumer and military applications including digital cameras, personal video eyewear, camcorders, thermal weapon sights and night vision systems.
KOPN's proprietary display and HBT technologies are protected by more than 200 global patents and patents pending. The company is seeing significant traction with their military display products.
KOPN reported revenues of $28.2 million for their latest (second) quarter compared to $25.8 million over the same period last year.
KOPN's second quarter net income came in at $3.7 million compared with a net loss of $1.7 million over the same period last year.
As of their second quarter report, KOPN had cash and marketable securities of $105.8 million. KOPN has no long-term debt. The company has spent $5.3 million on the repurchase of its stock as part of a $15 million share repurchase plan.
KOPN is attractive trading at a market cap of only around $321 million. KOPN has been in a solid uptrend with the trend strengthening and a possible move above $5.00 imminent.
